The Department of State has implemented a toll free number 1-866-283-9090 for secondary school students which can be used by host families, exchange students and the public to report circumstances impacting the students' health, safety and well being during their exchange visitor program. Their email address is: jvisas@state.gov

PLANNING A TRIP TO CANADA WITH YOUR EXCHANGE STUDENT?
These Countries require their citizens to have VISAS to visit or transit Canada
Some students need Canadian visas (called temporary resident visas or TRVs) Always make sure your student has both their passport and the DS-2019 and I-94 forms. Here's a direct link to the Canadian Immigration Visitor Services site also where you can find an application for the TRV
You may need/want to visit the Consulate General of Canada - Buffalo office for quicker service rather than handling by mail
If the student is a minor you will also need a letter of authorization from the parents

If the parents of the student are divorced or one of them is unable to attend the District interview, there must be evidence that both parents support the student's application. This may be accomplished by presenting a letter to that effect from the parent not in attendance.
