It’s been another challenging Rotary Year and I’m proud to say that many of our club and district leaders rose to the occasion to help us tackle those challenges and make a difference in both our local and international communities. Our thanks go out to all of you who contributed to The Rotary Foundation leading to per capita giving of more than $100 for the District overall. Your generosity will help us fund even more global and local service projects. Please continue your generous giving into the future to continue supporting our six Areas of Focus. Your generosity will inspire others to do the same.
As we get ready to celebrate our accomplishments of the 2018-2019 Rotary Year and pass the baton to David Hannan, our next District Governor at the District 7120 Changeover Dinner on June 28th, Jo and I would like to challenge you and your family to evaluate what your goals were when you started this year and evaluate where you wound up with regard to them. You may not have accomplished everything you set out to do, but take time to celebrate those things you did accomplish!

As you work on establishing goals for the coming year, here are a few questions to ask yourself: What’s important to you?  Are you concerned about the neighborhood you live in? Does it support efforts to ensure the safety of your family? Are your family members and friends provided opportunities for quality education? Do all families have enough food and decent shelter to live comfortably? If not, let’s get creative and find ways to address these issues. These are just a few suggested questions to start your thought process for the new year.

As you think of the things that are important to you and your family, take some time to think what your Rotary Club could be doing to support many of those things for not only you but for all members of your club and community. Working together we can make our world a better place to live for everyone. We need to continue to grow our collaborative opportunities and to inspire others to join us in the many global and local projects and initiatives we have ahead of us.

Jo and I would like to say thanks to all of you who have made this a special year for us.

Yours in Rotary Service,

Mike & Jo Slovak
