SHARE THE ROTARY EXPERIENCE!
Dear Rotarians, Rotaractors, Interactors, and Friends of Rotary,
In July I visited clubs in Spencerport, Prattsburgh, Geneva, Perry, Geneseo, Gates-Chili, Canandaigua, Rush-Henrietta, Elmira, Rochester Northwest, Newark, Corning, Hornell, Bloomfield, Naples, Clifton Springs, Ontario-Walworth, and Honeoye Falls-Mendon.  I met with the Rotary Youth Leadership Award students, participated in the Geneseo Rotary Summer Festival, joined Wolcott Rotary for their district grant project, conducted the District Advisory Council meeting, and pitched in with the Pal-Mac, Bloomfield and Newark Rotarians, as well as the Twin Cities Lions Club, at the Hill Cumorah concession stand.  Wow!  The good that is being done by Rotarians across our District 7120 is most impressive.
Every Rotarian I’ve met seems to be enjoying the opportunity for “Service Above Self.”  Yet club membership, with rare exception, is sagging.  Now is the time to share the Rotary experience.  SHARE THE ROTARY EXPERIENCE!
If you take satisfaction in the things you do for your community, understand that there are others out there who would feel likewise.  They are awaiting your invitation.
Your message should be not only that the prospective member can contribute to the community through Rotary, but also that the prospective member can benefit from the Rotary experience.  Yes, we are in Rotary to give more than we receive, but the socialization, networking, and personal development that comes with being a Rotarian is a tremendous gift that we need to share with others.
A few years ago when I was chair of Newark Rotary’s Membership Committee, I created an ”Each One, Reach One” program requesting every club member to identify a prospective member.  We recruited 16 new club members that year!  I challenge every Rotary Club to create a Membership Committee of at least 5 members this year, and have “Each One, Reach One” new member.
I believe there are many people in every one of our 11 counties who are willing to be Rotarians.  They are waiting for YOU to ask.  SHARE THE ROTARY EXPERIENCE!  Give the gift of Rotary membership.
