The westies and I going for a walk. You know where you can find me as my year concludes
Hi everyone,

Happy June!

According to Rotary International, June is designated Rotary Fellowships Month to recognize the importance of international fellowship and goodwill among Rotarians with similar recreational and vocational interests, promote increased participation in fellowships, and increase understanding of this program. The RI Board encourages these groups to celebrate Rotary Fellowships Month through projects, activities, and events.
What are the benefits for Rotarians in joining the Rotary Fellowships? Fellowship provides opportunities for Rotarians to make lasting friendships outside their own Club, District or country. There are many Fellowships that would be of interest to our members, and they are detailed on www.rotary.org/fellowships.  Please take a look at the many fellowships available to join. You may find ideas for projects and makes new friends.

Speaking of fellowship, please join me on July 1 for the Rotary 7120 District Change Over Dinner. DGE Janet Tenreiro has planned a fun in person celebration at Belhurst Castle. July 1 will be Janet’s first day as District Governor.

Please know that I consider it an honor to have served as District Governor.

Thank you all for staying diligent and engaged. District 7120 did well maintaining membership this past year.   The latest numbers have membership once again over 2,200 members district wide.

The theme for this year, Rotary Opens Opportunities, suits our year perfectly.

Clubs learned a new form of communication meeting virtually.

Clubs learned how to pivot from their traditional fundraisers and service projects to innovative fundraisers and service projects that were successful even during the pandemic.

Our one District wide in person service project had huge participation in the first Multi District Great Lakes Watershed Clean up.

Zoom and other virtual communications are here to stay. This will keep members connected when they are unable to meet in person. It will also serve as a platform for training, saving members travel time, and hotel costs as we meet in our District and continue to meet further with other districts.

Our District accomplishments were the creation of a District Environmental Action Committee, and a District Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee.  A Social media Committee and a Website Committee were formed to increase communication. Thank you to everyone who worked to make these committees successful.

Thank you all for remaining strong during a challenging year. I will remain involved in the District and accessible.  I look forward to seeing you at future meetings in person and on Zoom.

Yours in Rotary,

Linda
