April is Environmental Month one of Rotary Area of Focus
Activities in the US and Worldwide
Rotary International has made environmental protection a central focus of its community service and global initiatives. In the United States, Rotary clubs organize projects such as tree planting, water conservation, recycling drives, and educational programs that raise awareness about sustainability. These efforts frequently involve partnerships with local organizations and government agencies to maximize impact and foster long-term stewardship of natural resources.
Globally, Rotary International supports large-scale projects addressing issues like deforestation, pollution, and climate change. Clubs around the world collaborate to restore habitats, support clean water access, and promote sustainable agriculture. Rotary’s global grants and partnerships with environmental NGOs enable local communities to develop solutions tailored to their specific needs, empowering people to protect their environment and improve quality of life. Through these ongoing efforts, Rotary demonstrates its commitment to creating healthier, more sustainable communities for future generations.
Yours in Rotary,
Jim and Nancy
