Planning to visit Canada with your Exchange Student? Check this site (Countries whose citizens require visas to visit/transit Canada)   first - some students need Canadian visas (called temporary resident visas or TRVs)- and always make sure your student has both his/her passport and the DS-2019 and I-94 forms. Here's a direct link to the Canadian Immigration Visitor Services  site also where you can find an application for the TRV

You may need/want to visit the ( Consulate General of Canada - Buffalo office ) for quicker service rather than handling by mail

If the student is a minor you will also need a letter of authorization from the parents
