If you know of any programs that other clubs might like to know about please send the information to District 7120 Secretary Bill Redden by clicking here.

Below is the information about programs your club might be interested in.

For any Rotary Clubs in the Counties of Chemung, Schuyler and Steuben:

My name is Joe Ponzi and I am a Rotarian belonging to the Elmira Club.  I have a program about our agency that I would like to present to the Rotary Clubs in the counties of Chemung, Schuyler and Steuben.  My program has to do with STAVI (The Southern Tier Association for the Visually Impaired).  STAVI is a not for profit organization whose mission is to provide assistance to individuals who are blind or visually impaired through services and employment opportunities.  We operate 2 low vision clinics, 1 each located in Chemung and Steuben Counties.  I would like the members to know of the services available through our agency and to educate about low vision and the ways in which people can be rehabilitated.  Could you please put this on the District 7120 Website and alert the clubs that this program is available?

Why We Serve Program

Attached is a document regarding the Defense Department Community Outreach initiative program titled "Why We Serve". It's a great opportunity for local community leaders, influencers, and the general public to meet one of our proud service members who has deployed in support of the Global War on Terrorism. Please review the attached information, and should you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me. Also, please share with anyone who may be interested in this worthwhile program. It's a great opportunity for the American people to connect with those who voluntarily wear the uniform of our Armed Services.

Thank you in advance,

  Why WeServe Speakers List

The FIRST Program

The FIRST Programs, FIRST LEGO League for middle schools and FIRST Robotics Competition for high schools, are all supported by volunteers and sponsors in the community, only marginally by the registration fees paid by the Teams.  Coaches, mentors, and advisors for the Teams, and judges, referees, and all the others it takes to run the Tournaments are all adults from the community.  Every person I've met who has participated has had a great time and volunteered to do it again the next year.

We are constantly trying to expand our base of support so that in addition to  the large corporations like Xerox, Bausch and Lomb, and Kodak, we get support from individuals, smaller groups, and organizations, especially for FIRST LEGO League where the costs and time commitments can be smaller than for FIRST Robotics.  Our goal in talking to Rotary Clubs is to raise awareness of the programs in the community.  If individual Rotary Clubs choose to support us or to take on working with FIRST Programs as a service, that is great.  And if it simply means that one person who heard our talk at their Rotary Club meeting responds to our request for corporate or individual support for the Tournament, then we will have succeeded. To lean more please contact Ron Boarden at Ron_Bordon@bausch.com or Jack Mottley at jack.mottley@rochester.edu  For further information please click here

Cut Through the Organizational Fog and Discover the Magic of Vision

Buried in the massive detail of the process?  Trying to lead an improvement project and nobody’s following?  Feeling overwhelmed and under-appreciated?  Not sure if you’re the leader or the led?  You’re probably lost in “The Organizational Fog”.  This program will help you become more successful as you learn how to Cut Through the Organizational Fog and Discover the Magic of Vision.

Bill Gormont has been leading corporate teams out of the organizational fog for over 25 years. Through the experience of transitioning the energy of chaotic situations into successfully focused missions with winning results, Bill learned the art of trust in organizational survival and the leadership value of a positive attitude.  He enjoys the privilege of coaching organizations and virtual teams world-wide.  Bill helps them see their vision more clearly, develop increased confidence in their abilities, and reach levels of achievement previously thought impossible.  As a professional magician/sleight-of-hand artist, Bill uses his “magic” to deliver his “message” in a unique way that your team is sure to remember.

You may learn more about Bill’s programs at www.motivationalvision.com.  Bill Gormont, incoming Vice-President of the Greece Rotary Club, may be reached at bill@empiremagic.com  or  (585) 227-9760

Life line screening program

My name is Diane Beaudet and I am a Health Service Coordinator for Life Line
Screening Radiology, the nation's leading mobile health screening organization.
Our mission is to detect potential health problems in asymptomatic individuals
who are at risk for such life threatening diseases as stroke, abdominal aortic
aneurysms, peripheral arterial disease, and osteoporosis.  My role, as a Health
Service coordinator, is to be a community resource and educate the public on the
risk factors and warning signs for the diseases on which our screenings are
based.  I accomplish this through community outreach programs such as our free
educational workshop program.  I am also a proud member of the Rochester area
Stroke Task Force - a division of the American Heart Association.

I have spoken with Rotary, Kiwanis, and Senior groups all across the Western NY
area, and I would be delighted to speak with those Rotarians that I have not yet
reached!      Click here to see what the program is about
