Mark joined the Ontario-Walworth Rotary Club in 1993, where he has served in several positions, including Treasurer, Membership Chair, Youth Exchange Counselor / Officer and Centennial President 2004-2005.
At the District level, Mark has served as District Director of Youth Services, District Director of Club Service, Advisory Council, and Membership Development Committee. Mark has also served on Youth Exchange Committee for several years as Country Officer for Switzerland and Summer Exchange Chairman.
Mark’s wife Linda is also an Ontario-Walworth Rotarian. Linda has been the Club Secretary since 2002, and a Youth Exchange Counselor / Officer. Linda is a member at large of the District Youth Exchange Committee. Both Mark and Linda are Paul Harris Fellows. The Wyses have hosted several Youth Exchange Students, Governors Elect under the Milt Matthews Governor Elect Hospitality program, Group Study Exchange Teams, and Friendship Exchange Teams.
Mark is retired from Kodak. Linda is the Controller for Peter Parts Electronics.
Mark’s other community activities include: Lifetime member and Past President of the Ontario Fire Company, Treasurer. Mark is also Board Member for Pines of Peace Hospice Home, Chairman for Board of Trustees of Ontario Baptist Church, Wayne Central Board of Education Member and Past President, Advisor for Ontario Firemen’s Explorer Post and Finger Lakes Council BSA Explorer Advisor of the Year 1997 and 2001. Linda is a Lifetime Member and Past President of the Ontario Firemen’s Ladies Auxiliary, Member of the Board of Directors and Volunteer Coordinator for the Ontario Food Pantry.
Mark and Linda have two grown children; Adam who is teaches Statistics at Michigan State University, and Mindy who teaches Elementary and Special Education.
Mark is also a musician who plays a wide variety of string instruments including banjo, guitar, mandolin and bass. He currently plays with a Christian Praise Band called “Bound by Christ” in which Linda is also one of the singers.
