Jeff and Diane Krans have been a Rotary family since 1981, when Jeff joined the Penn Yan Rotary Club. Both are Paul Harris Fellows and Benefactors of the Rotary Foundation.
Diane joined the Bath Rotary Club in 2003. She joined the Northern Lake George Rotary Club in District 7190 in 2007, and is currently back in District 7120 and active with the Penn Yan Rotary Club.
Their children, Kimberly and Jacob were both active in the Penn Yan Interact Club when they were in high school. Over the years, Jeff and Diane have hosted half a dozen exchange students, they have enjoyed hosting visiting Governor Elects in the Milt Matthews program and their daughter visited Austria in a Rotary summer exchange.
Jeff has been recognized by the Penn Yan Club twice as Rotarian of the Year and was awarded the Four Avenues of Service Award. He has served the Penn Yan Club as President and Secretary. He was the sponsoring Rotarian Committee Chair for both the Penn Yan Interact in 1990 and the Keuka College Rotaract in 2004. Long term relationships with so many talented young people have created lasting memories.
Jeff and Diane worked with a group of District 7120 Rotarians to create the District Oratorical Contest on ethics. They were active with the RYLA program for well over 10 years. Jeff was an Assistant Governor for three years.
District 7120 and District 1070 had a Friendship Exchange in the 2008-09 years. Jeff and Diane were fortunate to have been selected as part of the outbound team to England. They enjoyed two delightful weeks in Northamptonshire and Leicestershire, England, prior to attending the 2009 International Convention in Birmingham.
